MONTREAL, Monday September 29, 2008 - Canadian distributor TVA Films is pleased to announce that director Larry Charles (BORAT) and political humorist Bill Maher (TV’s Real Time with Bill Maher) will appear on The Hour with George Stroumboulopoulos, Tuesday, September 30, 11:00 pm on CBC Television. They will be discussing their new film Religulous, which opens October 3 across North America.

Religulous is an uproarious documentary that takes its title from a combo of ‘’Religion’’ and ‘’Ridiculous’’. Known for his irreverent wit and commitment to never pulling a punch, Maher travels around the world, interviewing people about God and religion. The many locations include Vatican City, Jerusalem, Salt Lake City, even a Florida theme park. Maher, who was born to a Jewish mother and a Catholic father, was raised Catholic, but he hasn’t been to confession for 40 years. The film marks Larry Charles’s first feature project since his wildly successful Borat.

Religulous is being released in Canada by TVA Films.
