Director: Larry Charles
Cast: Bill Maher
Arrives on DVD February 17, 2009

TORONTO, ON – Starring prominent political comedian Bill Maher (Politically Incorrect and Real Time with Bill Maher) and directed by Larry Charles (Borat, Seinfeld) the highly controversial comedy/documentary Religulous will be available on DVD from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment Canada and TVA Films February 17, 2008 for an SRP of $34.90.

Religulous, which premiered at the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival, follows Maher as he criss-crosses the globe, travelling to Israel, the Netherlands, Vatican City and across the United States interviewing people about the existence of God and the importance of organized religion. In typical Maher fashion, he does not hold back. When this taboo subject inevitably collides with political views, Maher’s irreverent wit and blinding logic produce wild reactions from representatives of nearly every major faith.

Throughout Religulous, Maher doesn't so much criticize the act of believing in a higher power, but instead comes down on the literal interpretation of the Bible and those who believe that Jesus actually walked on water, that Adam and Eve conversed with a snake and that life spans could average some few hundred years. He compares this to believing in Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny and essentially tells followers of the Bible, Torah and Quran to grow up.

Religulous marks Charles’ first feature film since the critically acclaimed and wildly successful Borat.
